It was a good night for Ireland this week as outside of the local awards, five Irish businesses took home some Europe’s best titles at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
The swanky gala took place in Sardinia, Italy, and the Awards have been celebrating the key sectors of travel, tourism and hospitality since 1993.
At this year’s event, Ireland can now claim to be the home of Europe’s Leading Distillery Tour (Teeling Whiskey) and Whiskey Distillery Tour (Jameson Midleton Experience), as well as Europe’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort (Luttrellstown Castle Resort), Meetings & Conference Centre (The Convention Centre, Dublin) and Academic Tourist Attraction (Trinity College Dublin).

The Dublin University saw off competition from The Sorbonne, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Oxford, and said they are thrilled and honoured to have been awarded the title.
Drew Duggan, Head of Tourism at Trinity College Dublin, said: ‘We are deeply honoured to be recognised as Europe’s Leading Academic Tourist Attraction. Trinity is a truly unique destination, and we are honoured to welcome visitors from all corners of the globe each day.
‘This award is a testament to the dedication of our teams across the Book of Kells Experience, Trinity Trails, Summer Accommodation, Trinity Gift Shop and Events, who are committed to creating a world-class experience for everyone who visits.

‘We were in fantastic company in both of our nominated categories, and this win is hugely positive for Dublin and Ireland.’
Luttrellstown Castle also shared their joy at winning, saying: ‘We are delighted to announce that for the third consecutive year, we have been named Europe’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort at the World Travel Awards.
‘To be recognised at this level is an incredible honour and a reflection of our team’s dedication to creating exceptional experiences for every couple who chooses to spend their special day with us.

As a result, we have now been nominated for the title of World’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort… A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.’
